The Orchid Gifts of Madeira first opened in October 1999. The core business idea was conceived during a business course held in Funchal in the late 1990´s, based on women’s entrepreneurial leadership, in order to help them create and run their own businesses in Madeira. During this course, an Finnish entrepreneur, residing on the island, developed the idea of launching an exciting costume jewellery line made of fresh Orchid, to sell alongside various other gift ideas. The Orchid Gifts of Madeira project was thus born, a shop outlet opened, and the venture was chosen to be among the 5 best projects rewarded with a trip to Dijon (France), to visit a host of local women who had been developing their own businesses through a similar course they had participated in a few years earlier.
Now, a decade later `The Orchid Gifts of Madeira´ successfully continues to sell its popular costume jewellery through it´s original outlet; a beautiful dynamic shop – located in one of Madeira´s shopping centers, situated in the hub of Funchal´s main touristic `Lido´area. Certainly, the ranges have increased through the years in response to the requests of loyal and discerning clientele, but the original concept of ORCHID JEWELLERY still continues to be the leading trend in this commerce.
To celebrate 10 years of its entity, and due to the increasing number of customers enquiring about buying online, The Orchid Gifts of Madeira is opening a new online store, allowing its popular, nature-related costume jewellery items to be available to those of you, who so far, haven’t yet had an opportunity to visit the beautiful volcanic floral island that is Madeira!
